It is the moment you all have been waiting for... the Devo and Youth League Camp Itineraries are UP! Registration is OPEN!!!  

Registration for Comp, Devo, and Devo Plus Summer Sessions as well as all camps is up! Be sure to note that Devo Camp #2 has a one night camping trip! All camps are going to be action packed with lots of fun and diverse activities. Check out the details by clicking on the links below.

Comp Team Summer Session. Ages 14 to 19. June 3 to August 29

$250 reduced to $150 with 10 volunteer hours

            Monday – Thursday

                        4:30 – 6:30pm

Devo Team Summer Session. Ages 10 to 13. June 25 to August 15

$150 reduced to $100 with 5 volunteer hours

                        Tuesday – 8am to 9:15am – learn to rollerski! Agility & strength

                        Thursday – 8am to 11am – long hike/run

Devo Plus Summer Session – J3 skiers may opt to train with the Comp Team 1-2 days per a week.

Additional $30 to Devo Team cost

JUNE Devo Camp* June 18 - 21. 8:00am to 4:00pm daily. Ages 10 to 13. Cost: $125

JULY Devo Camp* July 15 - 18. 8:00am to 4:00pm daily plus 1 overnight. Ages 10 to 13. Cost: $150

Another Top 10

Congrats to Fischer Heimburger on his 9th place finish in the 5k classic mass start race at Junior Nationals! It was a VERY tight finish with 3 skiers within 4 seconds and only 34 seconds behind the winner.

Aren Burkemo placed 25th in a grueling 15km mass start classic race.

Congrats to Fischer Heimburger on our first Team Soho medal at the 2013 Junior Nationals!!!!! Aren Burkemo also had a great leg 2 on an OJ boys team! Check out the full results here.

Junior Nationals Skate

The racing has begun in Fairbanks! Today was the individual start skate race. Fischer Heimburger had an incredible performance in his first Junior Nationals race ever finishing 11th (1st intermountain division)! Aren Burkemo also had a great race finishing 25th in the OJ Boys (1st intermountain division).

We also did a biathlon realy. Ski a loop then shoot. For every shot missed each skier did 5 pushups. If they missed more than 3 shots they skied a penalty loop.

Saturday, March 16, Solitude Spring Fling

Solitude Nordic Center's annual Spring Fling includes a 7 km freestyle race, 1.2 km freestyle relay race, a free Toko wax clinic, live music, great food, and a costume contest. Pre- registration is $15 for 7k and $8 per person ($20 per group) for the relay. We'll be offering prizes for the fastes time for male and female in different age categories as well as for the best costume! 

Look for more information on this event soon. Team Soho  will be taking 2 vans to this event and is looking for a strong showing in the costume contest!!!

USA World Champions!

This week World Ski Championships are taking place in Italy and the USA made history!!! The USA women's sprint relay team (we did a sprint relay in the first Utah Jr Series race) won GOLD!!! This the first women's individual or team gold medal for the US at a World Championship event!!! Check it out and be inspired:

WCS Results

Wasatch Citizen Series #5

It is hard to believe the final race of the Wasatch Citizen Series is already here! Here's the scoop:

What: Fun racing for all ages!

When: Saturday, February 23, 10:00am start

Where: The Farm, Park City, UT - park at the church between The Canyons and the white barn

Race Info:  19km Freestyle race with shorter distances for younger and novice skiers. Registration will be the morning of the race from 8:30 - 9:30 at the church.

This is the last race of the season so there will be lots of shwag, prizes, and awards given out! As always Team Soho will have coaches at the race to help. Come out and join the fun!

Bogus Basin JNQ

The Comp Team just returned from a fantastic weekend of racing at Bogus Basin, just outside of Boise, ID. It was the last of 3 weekends of Junior National qualification races. Saturday was an individual start classic race followed by an individual start skate race on Sunday.

Saturday, Aren Burkemo led the team with a break-through 2nd place in the men's J1/OJ 10k!!! Marc Jackson also had a fantastic day finishing 11th. In the men's J2 race Fischer Heimburger again demostrated his consistency this season by finishing 5th.

On Sunday, Bronwyn Tayler led the women with a 12th place in the J2 girls. Ingrid Norton had a great race finishing 17th. In the J1/OJ women Lauren Jackson finished 24th. On the men's side Fischer Heimburger and Marc Jackson both cracked the top 10 finishing 6th and 10th. Aren Burkemo wasn't far behind in 12th. All racers skied 5k so times were very close!!!

Also this weekend, Jacob Livingstone and Reid Bohanon competed in their first JNQ races! It was great to see them out giving it their all!

Devo Team skiers Joseph Jackson and Mason Heimburger came up with their parents and represented Team Soho very well with 2 tops tens and a 1st and a 3rd by Mason! The future Comp Team is looking good =)

Utah Junior Series #2 NEW LOCATION

Tomorrow's Utah Jr race is moved to Soldier Hollow!!! Here's the scoop:

Tomorrow is the second race of the new (and free) Utah Junior Series, hosted by TUNA and Soldier Hollow.  We would really like to encourage everyone to show up and race as part of our initiative to expose our athletes to the other nordic athletes from around Utah in a fun, lightly competitive environment, as well as to different race formats they will encounter more frequently as they get older (ie. individual starts, sprints, etc)

This week's race is a Classic Sprint- there will be a timed individual start qualifier, followed by semi-finals and finals heats.  It was originally scheduled to be held at Round Valley, however since the snow is lacking there we will be holding the race at Soldier Hollow. 

Registration for the race will take place at SoHo from 4:30-4:45 (we can be flexible, this is a low key race).

Hope to see everyone there, we will be able to assist in classic waxing if you bring us clean classic skis before the race.

Get ready for some fun!!!

This Saturday, February 9, the racing continues with a 10k Classic race at Mountain Dell. As always there are shorter distances for novice and younger age groups! Here's the scoop:

What: 10k Classic race

Where: Mountain Dell (off of I-80 just past parley's summit)

When: Saturday, February 9, start time 10:00am

Who: ALL ages and ski abilities! Never raced? This is the event for you!

Coach Evelyn will be there helping with kick wax for Team Soho. REMEMBER you MUST bring CLEAN skis (no kick or glide wax) if you would like the coaches to wax your skis =)
